Create an Environment that is Inhospitable to Cancer
If you have been challenged by cancer, whether a new diagnosis, a recurrence or are in remission, the integrative cancer program at FHMC is dedicated to providing supportive care for the whole person who has a cancer diagnosis at whatever phase of treatment they are in.
Conventional cancer treatments focuses on treating the tumor or cancer cells with little emphasis on the whole health of the individual. We believe that a whole-person approach, one that aims to strenghten the individual before, during and after conventional cancer treatment, should be the foundation of a comprehensive approach to fighting cancer.
Overview of Our Approach:
Our approach is comprised of a core, foundational protocol designed to balance and strenghten the individual with cancer. We also utilize specialed laboratory testing to identify deficiencies, target imbalances such as inflammation and cancer markers. We use nourishing and medicinal foods, nutritional and botanical supplements, intravenous nutrients and lifestyle interventions. Our customized treatment plans are designed to:
-Improve energy levels
-Decrease cancer promoting inflammation
-Enhance immune function
-Strenghten, balance and nourish
-Address imbalances and deficiencies
-Turn off cancer promoting oncogenes and turn on tumor suppressor genes
-Prompt cancer cells to mature into healthy cells (a process known as differentiation) or to undergo a natural cell “suicide” (apoptosis)”
-Improve response to conventional cancer therapies and inhibit multidrug resistance
-Reduce treatment-related side effects and protect healthy organs from toxic treatments
-Reduce toxic burden and enhance detoxification
-Maintain quality of life
Our Approach to Working with Patients with Cancer:
We provide integrative, functional medicine in Central Massachusetts in the Worcester area. Many of our patients come from Boston and the Metrowest Boston area as well as all areas of Massachusetts and the other New England states.
